Ten Times!

    Not all of the numbers are in the system and the final statistics have not yet been verified, but it seems certain that Coldwell Banker RaderGroup Realtors has SOLD more homes than anyone in the greater Tulsa area during 2006. In fact, at the time this article was written -late December- Coldwell Banker RaderGroup had SOLD 15+% more homes than our nearest competitor.*
    This makes the tenth consecutive year our company has lead the market in homes SOLD in the five-county (Tulsa, Creek, Osage, Rogers and Wagoner) region. Of course, such accomplishments would not be possible without the continued trust and loyalty of our many customers! Thank you very much!
    Neither Coldwell Banker RaderGroup Realtors nor I are going to rest on our accomplishments.     If one company leads the market in home sales for ten consecutive years, there must be a reason. In truth, there are many reasons. Here are just a few.

Recipe of the Month

Hot and Spicy Pecans

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pecans*
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix butter, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Stir in the pecans, and gently toss with chili powder to coat.
  3. Spread coated pecans on a medium baking sheet, and cook 30 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring approximately every 10 minutes.

*pecans can be substituted for other nuts such as almonds or peanuts.

    As always, I am an advocate for responsibly using the Internet to better our lives, however, there are businesses online that would take advantage of the unsuspecting. As both your neighbor and a real estate professional, I feel obligated to pass on this article presented to me from Coldwell Banker regarding "predatory lending."
    The single biggest challenge for home sellers, buyers and real estate professionals in today's market place continues to be the problems faced when a home buyer selects a predatory, on-line or out-of-state lender who does not provide reliable, quality service. With more people than ever using the internet to search for a mortgage broker, the number of problems related to the buyers getting financing arranged in a timely manner are increasing. "What kind of problems?" you ask. Well, they can range from significant delays in the scheduled closing to loss of the sale altogether, causing frustration and financial problems for both seller and buyer. In many cases, the delays and concerns about getting the loan create unbelievable stress and hardship on the parties involved.
    If you are looking for a mortgage lender, consider carefully before selecting a broker on-line or one who offices out-of-state. Also, before you commit to any lender make sure they provide you with a complete, written GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE showing all of the charges, your interest rate and expected payment. Finally, it is wise to compare the fees of at least two different lenders.
