    If you are like me, I don't always have the time to turn on the 5 o'clock news or read the paper. Most of the time, I never wonder what I've missed, but today I saw a bit of news that I'm certainly glad I didn't overlook.

    In August 2005, Congress passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005, that will have an effect on us all. Beginning this year, 2007, instead of waiting for Daylight Savings Time to roll around in April, we will now begin Daylight Savings time on the second Sunday of March and end the second Sunday of November. That will mark March 11th, 2007 at 2a.m the day to "Spring Forward."

    Don't forget to set your clocks!

    The National Fire Protection Association and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that homeowners change the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors on the same days that we "spring forward" or "fall back" each year. This gives homeowners two preset dates to ensure that their homes are consistently protected throughout the year.
