Burger Chile Quiche

Ingredients:

• 1 baked pie shell
• 3/4 lb lean ground meat
• 1/4 c. onion, chopped
• 4 oz. green chilies
• 4 oz. mushrooms
• 3 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 1 c. milk
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:

    Cook meat and onion until browned and tender, then drain excess fat. Combine meat and onion with mushrooms. Pour mixture into pie shell and top with green chilies and cheese. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk, salt, and garlic powder together, mixing thoroughly. Pour over pie. Bake at 375º for 35 minutes.

Homestead for 2007

    If you do not currently have the Homestead Exemption on your personal residence, you have until March 15, 2007, to file in order to receive credit for the Exemption on your 2007 real estate taxes.
    The Homestead Exemption reduces the assessed valuation of a primary residence by $1000. This can mean an annual tax savings of $85-$140 per year. In addition, filing for the Homestead Exemption gives owners legal protection against creditors other than mortgages and tax liens.
    You may file for the Homestead Exemption at your County Assessor's Office. In Tulsa County, the Assessor's Office has an interactive web site allowing homeowners to download the forms for the Homestead Exemption. That web address is www.assessor.tulsacounty.org.
