Just the FactsHopefully, you have begun to notice versions of this logo in newspaper advertising and on yard signs around town. It is the symbol of a joint effort by the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors (GTAR) and Oklahoma Association of Realtors (OAR) to inform the public of the real facts of our local real estate market. With all the negative national news regarding house sales, prices and sub-prime mortgages, the Association's membership felt it was important to let people in the greater Tulsa area, as well as the entire State of Oklahoma, know the truth about our market. For example, as opposed to all the reports of falling sales and prices in other parts of the country, the Tulsa area market has really done quite well in 2007. In fact, it should be the second best year in our history for the number of homes sold, and both the average and median sales prices should be the highest in our history. The reasons for our strong market include a good local economy, fewer foreclosures and more stable prices than other parts of the country. So, when you see the "Good Thing You’re in Tulsa" logo, remember it is designed to remind area residents of the very good real estate market we have in our area. Then, you'll know all those negative news reports don't really apply to this market, and if you're interested in buying or selling a home, you'll realize this is a good time to do so! |
